JAQ Extra Content Rules
Official rules and clarifications for JAQ extra content
Here are the official rules for any extra content we create for JAQ, such as mini-expansions.
-
As always, we fully embrace house rules, and as long as you are having fun, that's "official" enough for us. Just try to reach agreement before the game play.
-
In general, when we play, we use the "Chaos variant" and put all cards in play all the time, with the possible exception of keeping the "take that" equipment cards out.
-
If you are NOT playing chaos and are instead using the player-count dots at the bottom of the cards, the general approach is to remove a set of the same guild in order to add in one of the new sets. If you have a new set of neutral guild equipment, remove an old set of neutral guild equipment.
JAQ Holiday pack:
Follow the rules on the rule card.
Q: How do I determine if I get the Trick or the Treat when I play a Haunted set card?
A: Pick up a coin, announce which side of the coin you choose, and flip it. If the side you chose lands up, you get the bounty Treat; if the other side lands up, you get the "bounty" in the Trick.
Q: What coin should I use for the Haunted set?
A: Whichever you prefer. When we pick something from the game, we often use a "6" coin or the player direction token.
Q: What are these 5-token symbols?
A: Those indicate all of the token types: Attack, Knowledge, Defense, Gems, and Coins. They generally mean "pick any one," and so if there are 3 sets of those 5-token symbols, you could choose any combination of those, such as a coin, a gem, and an attack token; or 3 attack tokens; or 3 gems; etc.
JAQ Monster pack:
Follow the rules on the rule card.
Q: What does the lightning bolt symbol indicate in the bounty area of the Monster card?
A: Do this when the monster first flips. This is an event that happen instantaneously.
Q: What does the hourglass symbol indicate in the bounty area of the Monster card?
A: Evaluate the result of this at the end of the monster battle.
